In the summer of 1979 I began my woodworking career in the mill and assembly shop of Seebright Wood Products. Four years later I moved to another company that I stayed with for about fifteen years as it was progressively swallowed by bigger companies. During these years we refurbished hotels; making, finishing and installing bedrooms, bars, industrial kitchens, wall panelling, doors, etc often in the middle east. Aswell as making fitted bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchens for individuals.

From there I was approached to join a small company making bespoke fitted kitchens, bedrooms and studies. It was a fantastic opportunity to employ all the skills of carpentry, joinery, cabinet making and paint spraying/finishing that I had learned through the years. I stayed with this company until moving to France in 2007.

Now working alone as an artisan (registered auto entrepeneur) I have reverted to a much more old fashioned style of working. Without the trappings of factory machinery the handmade process is considerably more time consuming but very satisfying. I particularly enjoy making individual bespoke pieces from either new or reclaimed timber and making fitted or free standing furniture to suit your requirements.

Your own designs can be realised or we can help with a design you loosely envisage or hopefully give you ideas if you're unsure. Everything can be handmade from scratch or if you fancy reusing old carved doors from antique furniture (for example) we can modify them for you to enjoy again.

I also undertake general carpentry and repairs; studwalls, insulation, partitions, stairs etc.

Hopefully the following pages give an insight into the kind of work I  can offer.

Double dividing doors in solid reclaimed oak. Surround from reclaimed timber, lintel from a railway sleeper.

Timber ceiling beams treated and restored.

                                     All from oak planking.

5 bar gates in Redwood and creosote.

Fancy dog bed from reclaimed cherry, oak and beech.

Garden table in oak finished in linseed oil.
